$500 million for the Newell Highway, $73 million for the Great Western Highway and $140 million for New Dubbo Bridge. A snap shot of projects being delivered to the Central West.
Industry heavyweights joined Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight, Melinda Pavey, and Member for Dubbo, Troy Grant today to discuss infrastructure priorities across Central West NSW.
Taking place in Dubbo, the Regional Industry Forum provides an opportunity for the community to discuss ideas on infrastructure upgrades in their own backyard.
Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight Melinda Pavey, said today’s forum has a clear objective, to ensure we continue delivering infrastructure that makes our roads safer and more efficient.
“Our critical investment in infrastructure is delivering more jobs, improving efficiency and safety on our country roads,” Mrs Pavey said
- More than $4.2 billion has been spent on the delivery and maintenance of regional infrastructure and services
- More than 5000 jobs have been supported by infrastructure in the Central West, this financial year.
- The next regional industry forum take place in Griffith.
Member for Dubbo Troy Grant said that the forum was important for opening the lines of communication with the local communities
“As a Government we need to ensure that we are being guided by the people we have been elected to represent. This ensures we are delivering the right regional investments,” Mr Grant said.
In the coming weeks, industry representatives will also travel to Griffith to discuss opportunities and projects throughout regional NSW.
