It’ll cost $15 million and take around 18 months to complete, but once finished will improve safety and journey reliability at a crash black spot near Wauchope.

Member for Oxley, Melinda Pavey MP, said the NSW Government is funding the important Rosewood Road project on the Oxley Highway.

“Planning for this work is in the final stages and will involve re-aligning the highway around six kilometres west of Wauchope,” Mrs Pavey said.

“The Rosewood Road intersection will also be upgraded, road shoulders will be widened and drainage improved to reduce the need to close the highway during flood events.

“Importantly, the new road will be built south of the existing lanes on land which is currently vacant, so the impact to the community while work takes place over the next 18 months will be minimal.”

“The need to improve this section of the road was identified in the March 2016 Oxley Highway Corridor Strategy.”
